Taylor Bennett released stuff ft. Chance the Rapper, Joey Purp & more, playing Summerscreen & SOB’s
Even if you're not familiar with Taylor Bennett, you may be familiar with his older brother Chancelor Bennett, better known as Chance the Rapper. Taylor makes music too, and collaborates with his brother as well as Chance's other pals like Donnie Trumpet, Joey Purp, and King Louie. All of those artists are on his Broad Shoulders project, which came out this past December. He's got a pretty similar melodic-rapping style to his brother, but his taste in beats is maybe a bit more psychedelic. Stream all of Broad Shoulders, and his more recent single "Straight from the Bottom," below.
Taylor will be in NYC soon for a show at SOB's on July 28 with Supa Bwe, Stro and Morocco Brown (tickets). Sooner than that though, he'll be the musical performer at the Summerscreen screening of The Fast & the Furious in McCarren Park on Wednesday (7/20). He plays around 7:45 PM, with the movie beginning at dusk. Like all Summerscreen shows, it's free.
