Telefon Tel Aviv playing shows for the first time since 2009 (many with Moderat)

Electronic outfit Telefon Tel Aviv have announced tour dates in May. Now a solo project after the tragic death of Charlie Cooper back in 2009, this is the first activity from remaining member Joshua Eustis as Telefon Tel Aviv in a while. In fact, he played his first show as Telefon Tel Aviv since 2009 last week, paying the Regent in LA on March 29. Eustis had been serving as a member of both Nine Inch Nails and Puscifer in the past few years, and he teased a new Telefon Tel Aviv album back in 2013, though there’s still no official word on that.

Many of those dates are opening the Moderat tour, including their NYC show on May 19 at Webster Hall. Telefon Tel Aviv also headlines a smaller show that same night at Knitting Factory after the Webster show. The Webster show is sold out, but tickets for the Knitting Factory show go on sale Wednesday (4/6) at noon.

Eustis also has a new album coming up as Second Woman, which is a collaboration with Turk Dietrich of Belong. The self-titled album will be out June 10 on Spectrum Sound, and they’ve released a song from it called “700358bc5,” which you can listen to below. The album is now available for pre-order.

Telefon Tel Aviv’s first album Farenheit Fair Enough is being reissued later this year on Ghostly International.
