California's Terry Malts are back with their third album, Lost at the Party, which will be out October 14 via Slumberland. It's their first album in three years. At least on first single "Seen Everything," the band have mellowed their buzzsaw pop approach just a smidge, into something more akin to early-'80s power pop. It's catchy as all get-out and you can listen here:

If you'd like to hear more, the band have set up a hotline -- 1-866-NU-MALTS -- where you can hear a few more snippets off the LP. It's free when you call from work. Terry Malts have West Coast shows this weekend, playing San Francisco tonight (9/1) and Santa Cruz on Friday (9/2). They'll be on tour this fall, including a Brooklyn show at Shea Stadium on October 24 with Kissing is a Crime and Rips. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
