The 1975 get loud on shouty new song "People," reveal album release date

The 1975‘s Matty Healy has expressed his love for some heavier music in the past, but The 1975 have never really written anything that sounds heavy. That is, until this new song “People,” the second song to be shared off their upcoming album Notes On A Conditional Form. It’s noisy, shouty post-punk with confrontational one-liners like “My generation wanna fuck Barack Obama / Living in a sauna with legal marijuana,” and it comes with a video that looks straight out of the ’90s industrial rock era. It’s pretty awesome to hear them doing stuff like this — check it out below.

They also revealed that the new album will be out February 21 via Interscope/Dirty Hit. Meanwhile, they’re doing a short US tour this fall.
