Bowery Presents expands more in Boston, hires TT the Bear’s & Great Scott promoters, opening new venue The Sinclair
The Bowery Presents, an independent promotion company based in New York City, and consulting Chef Michael Schlow are opening The Sinclair, a live-music venue and restaurant launching this fall. The livemusic space will accommodate 525 people with plans to host 200 shows annually, while the restaurant will seat 104 and will be open seven days a week. Located at 52 Church Street in the heart of Harvard Square [in Boston, MA], The Sinclair is the first restaurant project for The Bowery Presents...
"We are excited to open The Sinclair in such a historic, dynamic neighborhood," said Jim Glancy of The Bowery Presents. "The Bowery Presents has evolved over the years - from promoting concerts in small, intimate venues to arenas, amphitheaters and beyond. To build a venue in Boston, typically we would have retrofitted something in an existing space. For this project, we are taking the lessons that we've learned from our previous endeavors and creating The Sinclair with the best experience in mind for concert patrons and artists. We can't wait to share it with the citizens of Cambridge and the Boston area."
This press release comes after last week's announcement that Bowery Presents had hired Carl Lavin and Josh Smith who will "continue handle the talent buying and promotion of concerts at Boston's Great Scott and TT the Bear's Place. Additionally, Lavin and Smith will work in conjunction with Josh Bhatti for talent buying and promotion at Royale and the forthcoming Sinclair." Up until all of this, Royale, which opened in 2010, was the only venue in Boston Bowery Presents was booking exclusively. Now Bowery books all four of these venues exclusively, though the Sinclair is the only one they own.
