The Byrds' Roger McGuinn & Chris Hillman expand ‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’ 50th anniversary tour
The Byrds’ founding members Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman have expanded their tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of Sweetheart of the Rodeo, which now includes a NYC show at Town Hall on September 24. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, July 13 at 10 AM with various presales beginning Wednesday (7/11) at 10 AM.
As mentioned, backing Roger and Chris on this tour will be Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives. Says Marty of the album, “I bought my first copy of the record in 1972. Upon my first listen, I was mesmerized at the effect of the combined power country music, rock & roll, bluegrass, gospel and folk music had on me. From that day forward, I considered Sweetheart of the Rodeo a blueprint as to how I should live my musical life.
