The Casket Lottery are back, going on BV-presented tour, reissuing first 3 LPs

UPDATE: BROOKLYNVEGAN PRESALE FOR NYC SHOW HERE.

Late ’90s / early ’00s post-hardcore greats The Casket Lottery are back again. They’ve got a 12-date BrooklynVegan-presented tour lined up for March, and reissues of their first three, long out-of-print albums coming out via Run For Cover.

The tour includes a Brooklyn show on March 16 at Saint Vitus. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (1/12) at 10 AM with a BrooklynVegan presale starting Thursday (1/11) at 10 AM. Check back here Thursday morning for the password. All dates are listed below, along with the tour poster.

The reissues of Choose Bronze (1999), Moving Mountains (2000), and Survival Is For Cowards (2002) will be out individually and also as a box set available on Record Store Day (April 21). A limited presale for the individual LPs is underway. “We are excited to finally have these records back on vinyl and even more excited to get out and play some cities that we haven’t been to in years,” says singer Nathan Ellis. “We are all looking forward to connecting with old friends and singing some old songs.”

The Casket Lottery first got back together for some shows in 2011, followed by their first album since 2003 and a split with Touche Amore (where they covered Beach House) in 2012 (both released on No Sleep). That was followed in 2014 by a reissue of their collaborative 12″ with Small Brown Bike on Run For Cover, and The Casket Lottery went quiet again after that. Last year, Casket Lottery/Small Brown Bike offshoot Able Baker Fox released their first album since 2008 (No Sleep).
