The Crazy World of Arthur Brown announces first US tour in 47 years
Psych legend Arthur Brown is bringing his The Crazy World of Arthur Brown show on the road in the U.S. this year for the first time in 47 years. Arthur Brown is known most for his big 1969 hit song "Fire" (the one where he yells "I am the god of hellfire!") and has been very influential on all kinds of psych and heavy music. (Brown reactiveated the name in 2000 and most recently released Zim Zam Zim in 2014.) I caught the wildly theatrical performer at Psycho Las Vegas earlier this year, and it was easily one of the highlights of my show-going year. This one is not to be missed.
The tour, which features support from Electric Citizen, hits NYC at Le Poisson Rouge on February 23. Tickets for that are on sale now. They'll be joined on various other dates by the likes of Jex Thoth, Acid King, Pallbearer, White Hills and Danava.
