The Damned working on new album, announce 2017 North American tour

The Damned are working on their first new album since 2008’s So, Who’s Paranoid?, which will be out in 2017. While details are scant, you can pre-order the album now via Pledgemusic in a variety of packages. To coincide with the new record, they’ve just announced an extensive 2017 North American tour, and dates include NYC-area stops at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on May 5 and Asbury Park, NJ’s Stone Pony on May 6. Tickets go on Friday, October 28 at 10 AM with Citi cardmember presales starting Tuesday, October 25 at 10 AM.

Meanwhile, The Damned are currently celebrating their 40th anniversary and will be in NYC this Halloween Weekend for two sold-out at Gramercy Theatre which are are being touted as a “unique 40th anniversary retrospective.” They’ve also got a vinyl 7″ reissue of their debut single, “New Rose,” that will be out November 4. And if you haven’t seen Wes Orsheski’s terrific documentary, The Damned: Don’t You Wish We Were Dead, is out now on home video/digital (free to watch for Amazon Prime members). Trailer is below.
