The Dandy Warhols are gearing up to release new album Why You So Crazy which will be out January 25. They’ve just shared a new version of their “Be Alright” video which stars Mad Men‘s Jessica Paré. You can watch that below. The Dandys will also be celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2019 with a May tour that kicks off at Atlanta’s Shaky Knees fest and hits NYC at Brooklyn Steel on 5/8 (tickets). Updated dates are listed below.

We’ve been asking bands for their year-end Best Of lists and Dandy Warhols guitarist Peter Holmström has given us his, full of records that if you like Dandy Warhols, you will probably want to check out as well. His list includes Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Liars, Kikagaku Moyo, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Les Big Byrd and more. Check out Pete’s list with commentary, below.

Peter Holmström (Dandy Warhols) – Top 10 LPs of 2018

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Wrong Creatures
BRMC is probably my favorite band ever so I knew I was going to like the record. I absolutely loved King Of Bones the first time I heard it, the addition of slightly electronic elements is super cool. Getting to see the new songs live every night when Pete International Airport supported them was amazing.

Kikagaku Moyo – Masana Temples
We first saw Kikagaku Moyo at a festival in New Caledonia, they closed out the night and it was magical. Zia and I have been huge fans ever since and see them every chance we get.

A Place To Bury Strangers – Pinned & Re-Pinned
Another of my favorite bands with a remix version of the record too. I don’t know why more bands don’t do this.

MIEN – MIEN
Alex Maas, Rishi Dhir, Tom Furse and John-Mark Lapham making cool psychedelic electronic music. They do a version of Western Shouting, a song that Alex and I wrote, that made me very jealous.

Liars – 1/1 & Titles With The World Fountain (TFCF)
This band makes musical decisions I don’t understand and I thank them for that.

You Said Strange – Salvation Prayer
We first met this band when they supported us for a couple shows in France. They very kindly asked me to produce their record, a first for me. We had a great time and made a cool record.

Young Fathers – Cocoa Sugar
We played with them at a KEXP party and I was blown away. Then they were on a Massive Attack song and we got to see that at a festival in Hong Kong. Finally saw one of their shows in November, absolutely amazing.

Brian Jonestown Massacre – Something Else
I am really into Anton’s more experimental last records, but this return to the more traditional band format is great. I look forward to everything that Anton creates.

Les Big Bird – Iran, Iraq, IKEA
Just the title alone make this worth a listen

The KVB – Only Now Forever
I’m new to this band, but I’m digging this record.
