The Decemberists closed out BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!'s 2018 season on Tuesday night (8/14) in Prospect Park. The show was a make-up date -- it was originally to have happened in June but they had to postpone shows due to Colin Meloy suffering from vocal strain -- and thankfully the heavy rain from earlier in the day stopped for showtime. Whether it was being a make-up show or the last Celebrate Brooklyn! show, or something else, The Decemberists decided to make Tuesday night extra special:

They did indeed play 2006's much-loved The Crane Wife in full (like they did at their own Travelers Rest festival earlier this month), bookended by songs from the rest of their catalog, including this year's I'll Be Your Girl. During that album's "Once in My Life," Colin Meloy worked in a little of The Smiths' "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want." You can check out the setlist and a few videos from the show, below.

Hamilton Leithauser opened the show and remarked that he was psyched to play because A) Bob Dylan once played there, and B) he lives down the block. Pictures from Hamilton's set and The Decemberists are below.
