John Doe is currently on the road with his X partner in crime, Exene Cervenka, opening a few dates on the Blondie/Garbage tour. That stint wraps up this Saturday in Illinois, but after that he'll be heading to the NYC-area for a few solo shows in August: The Safari Room at El Cortez on 9/9 (tickets), then NJ's WFMU Monty Hall on 8/10 with Vagabond Mantra (tickets), and then The Rubin Museum on 8/11 (tickets).

Doe released an album and book in 2016. All tour dates are listed below. John will be back in NYC in September, along with Exene, Billy Zoom and DJ Bonebrake, for X's 40th Anniversary tour which hits Stage 48 on September 21 (tickets).

Meanwhile, The Flesh Eaters -- which is led by poet Chris D -- are getting back together for a few West Coast shows in 2018 and the lineup for those will be John Doe & DJ Bonebrake, plus Dave Alvin & Bill Bateman of The Blasters, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos, and and Chris D. That's pretty much the lineup of their classic 1981 album A Minute to Pray, a Second to Die. Hopefully they'll do some East Coast shows as well but, until then, all dates are listed (along with a stream of A Minute to Pray, a Second to Die) below.
