While Pittsburgh smartasses The Gotobeds work on their next album (Blood // Sugar // Secs // Traffic came out almost a year ago on Sub Pop), they’ll release a 12″ via Comedy Minus One later this year that collects their original demo tape, out of print singles, plus a cover of “Flowers Avenue” by fellow Pittsburgh indie rocker Karl Hendricks who we lost to cancer earlier this year.

Meanwhile The Gotobeds will be in NYC this weekend to play Sunnyvale on Saturday (4/22) with Shop Talk, and THICK. Tickets are on sale.

The band’s only other on-the-books show is at Cleveland’s Now That’s Class on July 15 with Australia’s Royal Headache. As for the new album, they’ve demoed songs and will be doing the actual recording this fall at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio. Listen to The Gotobeds’ last two albums, and check out video from their wild and wooly (and somewhat boozy) Northside fest appearance last year.
