The Hold Steady have announced the fourth annual edition of their "Massive Nights" run of holiday shows at NYC's Brooklyn Bowl on December 4-7. These shows often feature different, surprise openers and guests (which included Jeff Rosenstock, Laura Stevenson, and Ted Leo in 2018) and are generally a lot of fun. Tickets for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday's shows go on sale Friday 5/17 at 10 AM, with various presales starting Tuesday 5/14 at 10 AM, and there's also a four night pass.

Before their Massive Nights shows, The Hold Steady will do another round of "Constructive Summer" weekend shows in cities across the US, including Seattle, Chicago, Nashville and Boston. Even sooner, they have a brief Northeastern US run this weekend, including a sold out headlining shows at Jersey City's White Eagle Hall on May 16 and Hamden's Space Ballroom on May 18, and an opening slot at Frank Turner's Lost Evenings III run in Boston. The NJ show will be opened by Weakerthans frontman John K Samson (who has other dates including NYC) and the CT show will be opened by Paisley Underground vets The Dream Syndicate (ditto). See all of their upcoming tour dates below.

The Hold Steady frontman Craig Finn recently released a new solo album, I Need A War, and he's doing some touring of his own in support of it, including NYC shows at Joe's Pub on June 12 (tickets) and June 13 (tickets). Laura Stevenson opens both shows.
