The Lemon Twigs announce "musical" LP, touring w/ Arctic Monkeys & more dates

The Lemon Twigs have announced their new album, Go to School, which will be out August 24 via 4AD. The 15-track album was recorded and produced by Brian and Michael D’Addario at their home in Long Island and, as they’ve said, it’s “a musical.” Here’s the one line synopsis: “Go to School tells the heartbreaking coming of age story of Shane, a pure of heart chimpanzee raised as a human boy as he comes to terms with the obstacles of life.” Todd Rundgren and Brian and Michael’s real life mother Susan Hall play Shane’s parents, and the record also features contributions from Jody Stephens (Big Star) and their father Ronnie D’Addario. The band will be on tour starting in August, and will be supporting Arctic Monkeys on a few dates, including The Hollywood Bowl on October 16 & 17 (tickets). They’ll also headline Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on August 23 and L.A.’s Masonic Lodge on October 15.
