The Long Ryders, who skirted the twangy outskirts of L.A.'s Paisley Underground scene in the '80s, returned this year with Psychedelic Country Soul, their first album in over 30 years. The album title is a good description of what the band do, too, and the new LP finds them in fine jangly form, picking up right where they left off. You can stream the album below.

The band will head out on a short North American tour later this year, hitting Louisville, Evanston, Ferndale, Toronto, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Portland, as well as two NYC-area shows: Brooklyn's Rough Trade on September 17 and Jersey City's WFMU Monty Hall on September 18. Tickets for Rough Trade and Monty Hall go on sale Friday, May 24 at noon.

You can also catch The Long Ryders as part of the Outlaw Country Cruise which sets sail from Miami and goes from January 29 - February 3, 2020 with stops in Key West and Jamaica. The lineup includes Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, The Mavericks, Waco Brothers, Jesse Malin, and more. The ship is full but you can join the waiting list.

The Long Ryders' Stephen McCarthy opened for The Dream Syndicate on their just-wrapped East Coast run of shows that included two nights at NYC's Mercury Lounge. All Long Ryders dates are listed below.
