The Luyas prep 'Human Voicing' (watch the "Self-Unemployed" video), touring

Montreal’s The Luyas are set to return with new album Human Voicing on February 24 via Paper Bag. Like last year’s Says You EP, the new album was produced and mixed by Jace Lacek (Besnard Lakes), and there is a distinct krautrock-in-space vibe going on here, with Jessie Lauren Stein’s celestial vocals and spidery guitar lines hovering atop some serious Can-ed grooves. A great example of that is single “Self-Unemployed” and we’ve got the premiere of its video. Director/animator Amanda Bonaiuto matches the song’s tension with nervous imagery and you can watch that, and listen to “Dream of Love,” below.

The Luyas will celebrate the new LP’s release with a few shows in March, beginning in NYC on 3/9 at Le Poisson Rouge with Zula and Sound of Ceres. Tickets are on sale now.
