Back in action for a few European festival appearances (including Primavera Sound), Ian Svenonius' much-loved late-'90s combo The Make-Up played a few East Coast warm-up shows, including two nights at Brooklyn's The Bell House over the weekend with Detroit's Tyvek, and Permanent Waves (new group from Christina Billotte of Slant 6, Autoclave, Quix*o*tic, Casual Dots). Decked out in shiny gold outfits, Svenonius and crew preached the "gospel yeh-yeh" to crowds of the devout. Miracles were performed and there may have been out of body experiences. Pictures from Night 2 (Sunday, 5/21 which was all-ages) are in the gallery above and a few instagram videos are below.
