The Minus 5 (R.E.M, Young Fresh Fellows) touring with Alejandro Escovedo

Alejandro Escovedo‘s January tour gets underway this week, hitting NYC for ~~three~~ four shows at City Winery on January 17, 19, 20 & 21.. (tickets) For this tour he’ll be joined by The Minus 5, Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows)’s band that also features Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Kurt Bloch (YFF, Fastbacks) and John Moen (Decemberists). The Minus 5 will also be Alejandro’s backing band, as they also played on his new album Burn Something Beautiful (that Buck and McCaughey produced). Says Scott, “Many M5 nuggets will be aired to kick off the evening, and certainly a few Of Monkees And Men tracks will poke their hairy heads into the fray. I imagine some guests will show up along the way as well – maybe even Kelly Hogan! – only time will tell.” All dates are listed below.
