The Mob playing US shows, NYC with Pobreza Mental (who have a new EP)
UK anarcho-punk vets The Mob have been back in action for a few years now, and they're gearing up to come back to the US this summer. A full tour hasn't been announced yet, but dates have popped up in NYC, Philly, and Asheville (the latter of which they've never played before), and more are possibly TBA. For these shows, original frontman Mark Wilson will be joined by his US backing band: Mauz (of Dystopia and Kicker) and Jason Willer (of Cross Stitched Eyes, U.K. Subs, Charger, and more). (Fun fact: Kicker features Operation Ivy drummer Dave Mello and Charger is fronted by Operation Ivy/Rancid bassist Matt Freeman.)
The NYC show happens August 21 at Saint Vitus with local support from deathrockers Pawns and hardcore bruisers Pobreza Mental (mem Warthog, Exotica, Tercer Mundo). Tickets for that show are on sale now. All known dates are listed below.
Speaking of Pobreza Mental, they followed their 2017 demo with the Ya No Me Pertenezco EP this week and it's a scorcher. Stream it below.
