Back in January, fellow long-running music blog Stereogum bought itself back from Spin Media, making the site fully independent for the first time since 2006. Unfortunately, that came right as COVID-19 hit, and they've now launched an Indiegogo campaign to help keep things afloat during this weird, financially difficult time.

Specifically, they're releasing a compilation titled Save Stereogum featuring 44 current artists covering songs from the '00s. They haven't announced what songs will be covered, but they have announced the artists involved, which include The National, The New Pornographers, Waxahatchee, Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino, Ty Segall, Mac DeMarco, Julien Baker, Car Seat Headrest, El-P, Dirty Projectors, Anna Calvi, Hamilton Leithauser, Hand Habits, Rostam, PUP, Strand of Oaks, Wye Oak, Soccer Mommy, Kero Kero Bonito, Laura Stevenson, Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers, Bedouine, Frankie Cosmos, and more.

The compilation will be download-only -- that's the very '00s, classic iPod cover art above -- and as most of these crowdfund campaigns go, there are a number of different pledge levels, including a $20 download and a $50 download and t-shirt. Head to their Indiegogo site for more info, and check out the list of artists who are involved, below.
