the new Criterion Channel streaming service launches in April

Film lovers, rejoice. The Criterion Channel — aka The Criterion Collection’s new streaming service that replaces the missed Filmstruck — will launch April 8 in the US and Canada. If you sign up now you get a free month starting with the launch date and, to tide you over till then, they’re offering a movie of the week to watch. The Criterion Channel works on desktop, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Roku, and Android devices.

The first Movie of the Week is Elaine May’s great 1976 film Mikey & Nicky starring Peter Falk and John Cassavetes. You can watch the trailer below.
