The Number Twelve Looks Like You announce first album in 10 years, touring

NJ mathcore vets The Number Twelve Looks Like You reunited a few years ago, and then celebrated the 12th anniversary of Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear. on tour in 2017, and now they’re set to release their first new album in a decade. It’s called Wild Gods and due September 20 via Overlord Music (pre-order), and the first single is “Ruin The Smile.” It starts off atmospheric, sounding almost like a horror film score, but as you’d expect from this band, it doesn’t stay in one place for long and things get very spastic. Listen and watch the creepy lyric video below.

Frontman Jesse Korman has this to say about the band’s return:

The band ended somewhat abruptly. We all just needed a break from one another. So as the years went on, Alex and I felt like we never got to write some songs that we knew had to be written – that next sound, that next wild record that would push us even more out of our comfort zones and into new waters. We had built such a foundation, such an amazing following, and before we got too old, we knew we should give this one more big shot. To really make a statement for the world to remember us by.

The band also announced a tour with God Mother and Pound, beginning with Brooklyn (10/1 at The Kingsland) and Long Island (10/2 at Amityville Music Hall) shows before heading to Canada and the Midwest and then wrapping up in the band’s home state (10/18 at Debonair Music Hall).
