The Pains of Being Pure at Heart share new song "Hell" (listen)

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart recently shared the James cover off their upcoming Hell EP, and now they’ve revealed its title track, the only original song on the EP. (The other song is a Felt cover.) It’s clearer than ever that the band’s shoegaze/twee pop roots are way behind them — this is a bold pop song with disco guitar strokes, bouncy drums, thick rubbery basslines and a huge hook in the chorus. Kip Berman said in a press release that the song is “about how insufferable performances of sensitivity are when there’s a good song playing and someone you want to dance with,” and this is a song you’ll probably want to dance to.

The EP comes out next week (11/13) on the band’s own Painbow label. Stream “Hell” below…
