Nashville trio The Paperhead just released new album Chew via Trouble in Mind. The band have always channeled retro psych pop, but here move things into the '70s, finding influence from twangy Kinks records, AM pop and early Eno. The group remain great songwriters and musicians, keeping things from ever falling into mer pastiche. The cover art, which channels R. Crumb and Terry Gilliam, is great too. You can stream the whole thing below.

The Paperhead will be in Austin for SXSW and The Savannah Stopover before it and San Antonio's Burger Hangover Fest after.
