The Radio Dept. release 1st single for self-run label, reissuing 'Lesser Matters'

Sweden’s The Radio Dept have just released “Your True Name,” which is the bands first single for the Just So! label they’ve created. (“Yes, we’re finally indie for real,” they say.) Following 2016’s excellent, techno-inspired Running Out of Love, “Your True Name” is a return to the kind of guitar pop that first made the band a cult hit. “Your True Name is a song about faith in a way, not divine but utopian, believing in something that will probably never be,” say the band. “It’s about falling short, sometimes with your goal just barely out of reach.” You can stream that below.

The Radio Dept’s winter 2018 tour with Kim Ki O kicks off at the end of January in Los Angeles and hits NYC on February 3 at Warsaw (tickets). If you’re going to one of these shows, one thing to look out for at the merch table is a vinyl repress of their much-loved 2003 debut, Lesser Matters, which will be exclusive to this tour. All tour dates are listed below.
