The Radio Dept. release new 7" for Bandcamp Friday w/ Tri-Lites cover

The Radio Dept. are releasing singles throughout the year which they’ll then collect onto one album. So far they’ve just been digital singles — and pretty good ones too — but they’ve just released a 7″ single featuring two new tracks. Like the rest of their new singles, both of these songs are more in the guitar mode of their early releases, rather than the electronic side we saw on 2016’s Running Out of Love.

The A-side is a cover of The Tri-Lites 1964 single “You’re Lookin’ at My Guy” that they give a Go-Betweens-esque arrangement with some lovely violin; the b-side, “Could You Be the One,” is a hushed original with a little horn coloring in the lines. Both are terrific.

You can buy the 7″ via Bandcamp — one of the Bandcamp Friday special releases — and you can stream it below.
