the Rage Against the Machine/Public Enemy thing will reportedly be a supergroup (without Zack de la Rocha)

Rage Against the Machine

Yesterday, Rage Against the Machine launched a countdown clock that will end June 1 and has something to do with Public Enemy. According to new reports from Billboard, we shouldn’t get too excited for a Rage/Public Enemy tour or anything though. Apparently the teaser is for a new band featuring RATM guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk (aka everyone except Zack de la Rocha), plus Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B-Real. The band will go by Prophets of Rage (the name of a Public Enemy song and the name of the website they launched), and will perform songs by all three groups.

The band will reportedly make their live debut on June 3 at Hollywood Palladium, and have a show planned at LA’s Whisky a Go Go too. They’re considering a summer tour.
