James Hinton released his acclaimed second full-length as The Range, Potential, earlier this year, toured with Phantogram and is gearing up for a tour with his Domino labelmate Austra. If you haven’t spun Potential yet, you can do so below.

The Range will also be DJing with Jim-e Stack at Brooklyn’s The Good Room on December 29 and tickets are on sale now.

James is one of the many artists to give us their Top 10 of 2016 lists, and he offers up his favorite LPs of the years. “Attempting to look at the bright side of a year that I am grateful is ending, 2016 has been a very forward year for electronic music,” Says James. “For the first time in a while I think you can argue that there is no major genre collusion and that has led to some new and interesting risks being taken which feels fresh and exciting to me.” His list includes LPs by Nicolas Jaar, Porches, Tim Hecker, LUV and more. Check out the whole thing below.
