The Rapture reunion: “we plan to play two shows and see how it feels”
The Rapture announced earlier this week that they were getting back together for L.A.'s Just Like Heaven festival (which has a very late-'00s lineup) and would warm up for that with a Brooklyn show. As to how much more they have planned, frontman Luke Jenner said on Twitter, "We plan to play two shows and see how it feels," also saying "This rapture thing is ridiculous already...I wanna crawl in a hole."
Meanwhile, if you're wondering, bassist Mattie Safer, who sang lead on some of their songs and parted ways with the band in 2009, is not part of the reunion. "For those who’ve been asking... I'm not involved in these upcoming Rapture shows. Honestly, I‘d love to get up and play those songs again, but I wasn't asked," he tweeted, adding "I’m psyched on my new band @saferisaband, my new label @cell_labs, & playing with @poolside for the foreseeable future."
Tickets for The Rapture's April 30 Music Hall of Williamsburg show go on sale Friday (2/8) at 10 AM.
