Innovative hip-hop band The Roots and alt-country group Drive-By Truckers are set to headline the 2016 edition of NYC's Lowdown Hudson Music Fest, an annual free event held at Brookfield Place Waterfront Plaza on the Hudson River. The two day fest runs on July 12 & 13 and does not require any tickets for entry.

Brooklyn-based Afrobeat band Antibalas open the 7/12 day, which The Roots headline; and country blues singer-songwriter Valerie June and Nashville singer-songwriter Rayland Baxter open 7/13, headlined by DBT.
