Roots Picnic happening in NYC w/ David Byrne, D’Angelo, Wu-Tang Clan, Nile Rodgers & more
We mentioned a music festival was coming to Bryant Park, and now we know that will be Roots Picnic! It happens October 1 & 2 and the first night brings The Roots together with D'Angelo and John Mayer. The second night they're calling their "Love Letter To New York City," which will be The Roots with David Byrne, Nile Rodgers, and the Wu Tang Clan. In addition to the headline sets, there will be performances by Swizz Beatz, Trombone Shorty, Kevin Gates, Deerhoof, Jeremih, Lil Uzi Vert, Lady Leshurr, DJ Jazzy Jeff, EPMD, "Black Thought’s Live Mixtape featuring Styles P x Royce da 5’9 x Freddie Gibbs and DJ J Period" and more as well as comedy sets by Jerrod Carmichael and Neal Brennan. Tickets for The Roots NYC Picnic go on sale Friday, June 10 at 10 AM but you can get tickets early with the BrooklynVegan presale starting Wednesday (6/8) at 10 AM. Check back Wednesday morning for the password. UPDATE: password is here.
