The Roots to play "The Final Highline Ballroom Show"
As mentioned, NYC venue Highline Ballroom is closing in February, and the final show for the venue’s current location has been announced. The Roots play what’s being billed as “The Final Highline Ballroom Show” on February 5, 2019, and tickets are on sale now. UPDATE: The date has been changed to February 4, 2019. It’s a return to familiar ground for The Roots, who did 2009 guest-filled residency at the venue, as well as shows there in 2010 and 2011.
In a statement, Highline Ballroom said that their landlord decided not to renew the building’s lease after twelve years, but that they are “looking at options” for a new location in Chelsea or the Meatpacking District.
