Chicago indie vets The Sea and Cake will follow 2012's Runner with their first album in six years, Any Day, due out May 11 via Thrill Jockey. So far two singles are out, the title track and the just-released "These Falling Arms," both of which are in the band's trademark style of combining atmosphere, complex rhythms, and subtle pop melodies. The title track was recorded with Brian Wilson collaborator Paul Von Mertens on flute and clarinet, and Nick Macri on double bass. The new "These Falling Arms" is the band's "first and only waltz," and they say it's inspired by Julee Cruise's "Falling." Listen to both below.

The Sea and Cake will also begin a tour a couple days after the album comes up, including a Brooklyn show on May 16 at Elsewhere. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (3/16) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
