The Shins at Bowery Ballroom

The Shins celebrated 'Heartworms' @ Bowery Ballroom & Music Hall of Williamsburg (pics, setlist from Bowery)

The Shins played Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday, despite the snow, and Music Hall of Williamsburg on Wednesday. With new album Heartworms just out, these were small, intimate record release shows and the stage was decorated to look like the record cover, all in a trippy black light glow and complete with giant, rather psychedelic flowers. At the Bowery show, the band played about half the new album, with liberal amounts of their back catalog peppered in, including more than a few from their much-loved 2001 debut. The setlist from Bowery is below and pics from that show (including ones of openers Kid Wave) are in the gallery above. Anyone go to the MHOW show? A few instagram videos from both Shins NYC shows are below.

The Shins will be back in NYC this summer to play BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! in Prospect Park on June 15. Tickets are on sale.
