Sound of Young America

It either takes a lot of bravery or irony to call your album The Sound of Young America, but four hardcore bands -- Calculator, Innards, Capacities and Itto -- have done just that for their new four-way split which comes out next week (6/17) via Flannel Gurl (pre-order). This split (not to be confused with Jesse Thorn's radio show) is dealing in a darker, heavier brand of hardcore than the current trend of atmospheric screamo/post-hardcore. But it sounds like roots are shared between these bands and Touche Amore/Pianos Become the Teeth/etc in bands like Converge and Modern Life Is War. A full stream of the split premieres in this post and can be listened to below.
