The Stone Roses reportedly releasing new LP in 2016

As you may know, The Stone Roses are playing shows this year, including their first NYC date in over two decades, which happens at Madison Square Garden on June 30 (tickets). In addition to favorites like “I Wanna Be Adored” and “Fools Gold,” it looks like they may be playing some new ones too, as UK paper The Mirror reports that the Manchester band will release their first album in 22 years:

A source said: “ Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three.

“It’s a long time coming but they feel the time is right now.

“They’ve been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it.”

Bass player Mani teased fans last year when he said the group had been “working on a few bits” after being asked about the possibility of a new release.

If it happens, it would be the band’s third LP and first since 1996’s Second Coming.
