The Strokes celebrated New Year's in April at Barclays Center (video, setlist)

The Strokes finally got to ring in 2022 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday night, just three months and change late. Their planned NYE bash got postponed thanks to the Omicron wave that was surging through New York City at the time. The band actually did the countdown for the encore, before closing the night with “Take It or Leave It.”

Before that, The Strokes delivered a crowd-pleasing set heavy on the hits, including “Hard to Explain,” “Reptilia,” “You Only Live Once,” “New York City Cops,” and “Under Cover of Darkness,” which they hadn’t played in six years. There were also a handful of songs from their 2020 album The New Abnormal. Check out the setlist and fan-shot video from the Barclays Center show below.

IDLES were originally supposed to play the Barclays show but with the postponement Mac DeMarco was added. With Hinds as the night’s first band, it was basically the same lineup as The Strokes’ previous NYE show two years before. You can check out Mac’s setlist below.

The Strokes open for Red Hot Chili Peppers at NJ’s MetLife Stadium on August 17, and Mac DeMarco just announced a fall tour.
