The The releasing first new music in 15 years (for Record Store Day)

Matt Johnson has officially dusted off his The The moniker for his first new music in over 15 years. New single “You Can’t Stop What’s Coming” will be released for Record Store Day in the UK as a one-sided 7″ single with an etching on the flip. The record features many past The The members including Johnny Marr, bassist James Eller and drummer (and onetime Orange Juice member) Zeke Manyika. That’s the single’s cover art above.

Unfortunately, the 7″ is not part of RSD in the U.S. But let’s hope this means more The The music is on the way.

Matt Johnson hasn’t been totally dormant in that decade and a half, having done some soundtrack work in The The’s interim. Check out a few classic videos below.
