It was very sad news when earlier this year Canadian rock royalty The Tragically Hip revealed that frontman Gord Downie had terminal brain cancer. They were on the cusp of releasing their 13th studio album, Man Machine Poem, which would debut at #1 on the Canadian LP charts in June. The band have been on a farewell tour which has its final show on Saturday, August 20 in the band’s hometown of Kingston, Ontario at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. The concert will be streamed live beginning at 8:30 PM Eastern by the CBC. Watch below.

Formed in 1984, The Tragically Hip have consistently been one of the most popular bands in Canada of the last 30 years, though that success hasn’t translated so much below the U.S. border. Nearly all of their albums have hit #1 on the Canadian charts and the band have over a dozen Top 20 singles, with “Ahead by a Century” being a #1 in 1996. You can listen to a band best-of below.
