The Vaselines and Schwervon! played The Bell House (pics, setlist)

On their way to Bumbershoot, Scottish indie rock royalty (with mouths like sailors) The Vaselines stopped in NYC Thursday night (8/30) for a show at The Bell House with openers Schwervon! (That’s their exclamation point, not ours.) Like in recent tours past, Eugene and Frances were augmented by some of Belle & Sebastian, including guitarist Stevie Jackson who worked in a solo show of his own earlier in the week. The Vaselines played a 22 song set, which hit most of the classic plus tracks from 2010’s solid comeback, Sex with An X.
