The Wedding Present rerecorded 'George Best' with Steve Albini, releasing it for LP's 30th anniversary
The Wedding Present released their ninth album, Going, Going… back in September and will be touring this spring with Colleen Green, including a show at NYCs The Bell House on April 15 (tickets). All dates are listed below.
2017 also marks the 30th anniversary of The Wedding Present’s classic debut album, George Best. The album has been reissued a number of times over the years so for this, they’ve done something special: rerecorded the whole thing with Steve Albini, who produced TWP’s Seamonsters, and is currently being mixed by Andrew Scheps. (It was actually recorded back in 2008 but will only be coming out this year.) No word on the release date yet — the actual 30th anniversary won’t be till October — so stay tuned.
