The Weeknd & Swedish House Mafia replacing Kanye West as Coachella headliner

The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia will replace Kanye West as Coachella headliners on Sunday, April 17 and 24, Variety reports. “I’m so looking forward to this moment with Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd finishing out the Sunday night slot this year,” Goldenvoice president/CEO Paul Tollett says. “Coachella has a special relationship with Abel and I’m so thankful to have this upcoming performance with these iconic artists all on the same stage.”

The Weeknd last headlined Coachella in 2018, and he has his first ever global stadium tour with Doja Cat coming up, supporting this year’s great Dawn FM (which features his collaborative track with Swedish House Mafia, “Moth to a Flame”) and 2020’s After Hours.

Swedish House Mafia were the first artist to be publicly confirmed for this year’s Coachella lineup; they were previously billed as “Returning to the Desert.”

The last minute lineup change comes after Kanye West dropped off his headlining. See the updated lineup below.
