The White Stripes' self-titled debut album tuns 20 this year and to celebrate, it's getting a 20th anniversary companion box set via Third Man, as part of the label's Vault subscription service. This deluxe The White Stripes XX package comes with an album's worth of outtakes, including an early version of "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" and a previously unreleased cover of Burt Bacharach's "Little Red Book" (also famously covered by Love). From Third Man:

With only a handful of days spent recording in the cold, amenity-free studio in a Detroit January, it is of legitimate surprise the bounty of previously forgotten alternate takes and unreleased tracks that exist from said sessions. At a time when every last inch of tape meant dollars spent, the fact that ANYTHING extraneous was saved is not just remarkable, but a windfall for fans two decades later.

You can listen to "Little Red Book" below.

The box set also includes a full show recording, 'Live at the Ritz 9/26/99,' from their tour opening for Pavement, as well as a 'Live at Pacheck's 3/13/99' DVD and a 'Live at the Magic Stick 5/30/99' DVD. You can check out the tracklist below.

You'll need to sign up for the Third Man Vault subscription service by October 31 to be eligible to purchase The White Stripes XX.

In other news, not only did Jack White finally hang out with Jack Black (Tenacious D posted a picture with him on Instagram in June and joked that he was their new merch guy), they now took it one step further and made a song together. The Tennessean reports that on stage at a Tenacious D show in Nashville on Sunday, Jack Black said, "Jack White... we went over to his house today and recorded a brand new song." He also said that the song should be coming out on Third Man Records at some point. Stay tuned for details and check out the instagram of them hanging out below.

Jack White is out with The Raconteurs and they'll hit NYC for three shows in September.
