The Who played two songs from new album at MSG show (video, setlist)

The Who are currently on their “Moving On!”l tour, which has Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and the rest of the band playing with a full orchestra for two sets and a more rock-n-roll set sandwiched in-between. In addition to classics like “Pinball Wizard,” “Baba O’Riley,” “Love, Reign O’er Me,” “Substitute,” “Who Are You” and more, their show at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on September 1 included two new politically minded songs: “Hero Ground Zero” and “Big Cigars,” both of which were making their live American debut. (Both were played at Wembley Stadium in July.) “Big Cigars” was previously released as “Guantanamo” on Pete Townsend’s 2015 compilation, Truancy: The Very Best of Pete Townshend. Townsend told the crowd that the new Who album, their first in 13 years, would be out in November. You can watch video of both, and check out the full MSG setlist, below.

The Who, who already played MSG on the “Moving On!” tour back in May, play Toronto tonight and will be back in the NYC-area to play Jones Beach on September 15 (tickets). All dates are here.
