The Wonder Years return with "Oldest Daughter," confirm new album

The Wonder Years are back! After revisiting classic material and giving frontman Dan Campbell some time to release a solo album, they’ve just released their first proper, entirely new single since 2018’s Sister Cities, “Oldest Daughter”. It reunites them with producer Steve Evetts, who also helmed Suburbia, The Greatest Generation, and No Closer to Heaven, and in true Wonder Years fashion, it’s got a callback to some of their earlier material, reprising the titular character of “Madelyn” from The Greatest Generation. It also feels like the culmination of everything they’ve done up to this point, with the genre-defying maturity of Sister Cities and the catharsis of the earlier records. A new album will arriver later this year via Loneliest Place On Earth/Hopeless, and this song is getting us very excited for that. Listen below.
