They Might Be Giants announce lots more 'Flood' tour dates

They Might Be Giants are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their third album, Flood, by playing it on tour, and they’ve just announced a bunch more dates, including shows in both Portlands (Maine and Oregon), the Boston area, Asbury Park, Vancouver, Seattle, Baltimore, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Kansas City, Tulsa, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and more. Additionally, they’re celebrating the 19th anniversary of their “lost” album Mink Car with special shows in NYC and Long Island.

The Asbury Park Flood show happens September 2 at Asbury Lanes, and the Mink Car shows happen at Pawling, NY’s Daryl’s House on September 9 and at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on September 11 & 12. Tickets for those shows — and all newly announced dates — go on sale Friday, February 28 at 1 PM local, with fan presales starting Tuesday (2/25) at 1 PM local.

Mink Car had the unfortunate distinction of being released on September 11, 2001 and TMBG actually played Bowery Ballroom the night before (9/10/2001) as part of a launch party for The Onion‘s then new (and now gone) NYC print edition. Some other albums released that day: Jay-Z’s The Blueprint, Bob Dylan’s Love & Theft, Mariah Carey’s Glitter, and Slayer’s God Hates Us All.

All dates — which include three previously announced Flood shows at Bowery Ballroom — are listed, along with streams of Flood and Mink Car, below.
