Philly's Thin Lips, which includes members of the now-defunct Dangerous Ponies, 1994! and The Superweaks, released a very solid debut EP on Seagreen Records last year, and now they're set to put out their first full length. It's called Riff Hard, and it's due out on May 20 via Lame-O Records (pre-order). The first single is "Never Again," which is a catchy dose of '90s-style pop punk with scrappy indie rock production. That sound is very of the moment in certain circles -- Swearin', Chumped, Joyce Manor and plenty of other bands have been doing this lately -- but these relative newcomers are already one of the good ones. The song's got a video, which singer Chrissy Tashjian awesomely calls "our homosexual blink-182 video," and you can watch that below.

The band is heading out on tour in support of Modern Baseball and Joyce Manor, which is a hell of a triple bill. As mentioned, that tour hits NYC on June 24 and 25 at Irving Plaza (tickets). You can catch Thin Lips in NYC at a much smaller show much sooner though. They play Friday (3/11) at Aviv with Bellows, The Max Levine Ensemble and Katie Ellen (ex-Chumped), which is also a rock solid bill. Tickets for that one are still available.
