Philly indie punks Thin Lips will follow their 2016 debut LP Riff Hard with their sophomore album Chosen Family on July 27 via Lame-O Records. They made the album at The Headroom in Philly, co-produced by the band's own Kyle Pulley and Chrissy Tashjian with help from Hop Along members Frances Quinlan and Joe Reinhart, and Frances is also featured on the record (as she was on Riff Hard). Thin Lips are also touring later this year with Hop Along, who have been playing with Chrissy Tashjian as an additional live member all year.

The album includes such song titles as "Gaslight Anthem (The Song Not The Band)," "Sex Is Complicated," and "It's Hard To Tell The Difference When You're Afraid Of Literally Everything," and the first single is "A Song For Those Who Miss You All The Time." The new song is a little slower and cleaner than the band's debut, and the extra breathing room allows for subtle complexities to be worked in beneath Chrissy's addictive hooks. It makes this record seem pretty promising -- check it out for yourself below.

Before Thin Lips hit the road with Hop Along, they've got a hometown show opening for Japandroids. All dates are listed below. Also below is a stop-motion teaser video for Chosen Family made by Augusta Koch of fellow Philly bands Cayetana and Gladie.

UPDATE: Thin Lips are also opening part of Modern Baseball offshoot Slaughter Beach, Dog's tour, including shows in Philly, Hamden, Long Island, and more.
