Third Eye Blind's quest for indie cred continues! First, they released a covers EP with songs by Bon Iver, Chastity Belt, Santigold, Queens of the Stone Age, and more; then they announced a tour with emo vets Jimmy Eat World and indie pop darlings Ra Ra Riot (which is currently underway); and now they've announced a new album featuring Ryan Olson of Bon Iver's pals Polica & Marijuana Deathsquads, Sleigh Bells singer Alexis Krauss, and a guy who's gone in and out of his cred-having days for decades, Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan.

The first single is title track "Screamer" featuring Alexis Krauss, and it sounds a little more like Sleigh Bells than like classic Third Eye Blind, for better or for worse. You can hear it for yourself below.

Screamer officially comes out October 18, and gets an early release on October 11 on the ‘Ten Bands One Cause’ Pink Vinyl Campaign Benefitting Gilda’s Club NYC.
